About FAC Exchange
Traditionally facultative life insurance applications were mailed, sent via overnight courier, or faxed between life insurers and reinsurers. This was a slow and tedious process. Costs for paper, faxes, and delivery fees added up. Transportation times ranged from days to even weeks.
FAC Console is a software solution that solved these problems. RGA-designed for life insurance companies, FAC Console enables users to easily enter facultative life insurance cases and instantly submit them to multiple reinsurers with a single click. This eliminates copying, mailing, and delivery costs while improving turnaround time by leaps and bounds. Instead of taking days and possibly weeks to transmit a case, now it takes seconds. In addition, the system goes a step farther by providing case management and reporting capabilities designed with the client’s specific business in mind.
FAC Console was originally released in 2000. It has become the industry standard for the transmission of facultative cases, and FAC Exchange is the web-based replacement for FAC Console. Developed during 2020-2021, it adds new and/or updated transactions to flow between carriers and reinsurers. All transactions in the new version are designed to ACORD standards. FAC Exchange enables direct integration between carriers and reinsurer-systems.
